clinic指可提供專門醫(yī)療服務(wù)的衛(wèi)生機(jī)構(gòu),如私人診所、?？漆t(yī)院或門診治療的部、科、室或者診斷過(guò)程。

這組詞都和醫(yī)療單位有關(guān)。其區(qū)別是：
hospital是醫(yī)院的統(tǒng)稱,特指綜合醫(yī)院,也可指獸醫(yī)院; clinic指醫(yī)院等的門診部、私人診所、學(xué)?；驒C(jī)關(guān)等的醫(yī)務(wù)室,也指專科醫(yī)院或?qū)？圃\所、醫(yī)院的各科; sanatorium一般指療養(yǎng)院、休養(yǎng)所,在英國(guó)有時(shí)也可指隔離室。例如:
He went to the hospital to see his doctor yesterday.昨天他去醫(yī)院看病了。
The outpatient clinic of this hospital was on the ground floor.這所醫(yī)院的門診部在一樓。
The old man has been living in the sanatorium for two years.這位老人在這所療養(yǎng)院里已住了兩年了。
The boy had a high fever and was sent to the sanatorium.那男孩發(fā)高燒被送進(jìn)了隔離室。
